Overview
Novus Word (“the app”) is developed by Michael Holgate. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app and how it is used.
Data We Collect
When you use Novus Word, the following data may be collected:
- Username — a display name you choose within the app
- Game scores — your daily scores submitted to the global leaderboard
- Anonymous player ID — a randomly generated identifier stored on your device, used solely to link your scores on the leaderboard. This ID is not connected to your name, email, or Apple ID.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personal data.
How We Use Your Data
Your username and scores are stored on our servers and displayed publicly on the global leaderboard. No data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Third-Party Services
The leaderboard is powered by Google Firebase (Firestore). Google may process data in accordance with their own privacy policy. You can review Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Storage and Retention
Leaderboard scores are stored on Firebase servers. Local game statistics and achievements are stored on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of your leaderboard data at any time by contacting us at support@thenovusapp.com. Please include your username in your request.
Children's Privacy
Novus Word is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
