1. Who We Are

Novus Tracker is provided by Michael Holgate (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@thenovusapp.com.

For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for any personal data we process.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

All app data — including your active habit trackers, titles, progress logs, dates, and background photos — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

This data is never transmitted to any server controlled by the developer, keeping your personal habit logs 100% offline and secure.

3. Location Services & Weather Information

Novus Tracker requests permission to access your approximate location solely to display current weather conditions in the application header.

Your approximate coordinates are sent directly to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a free open-source weather service, to retrieve the local weather data. This data is not stored, logged, or shared with the developer.

You can deny location access at any time in iOS/macOS Settings — the weather icon simply won't appear, and the app will continue to function normally without weather information.

4. Custom Photos

If you choose to customize your tracker with a background photo, that image is stored locally inside your device's sandbox environment.

It is never uploaded, synced to our servers, or shared with third parties.

5. In-App Purchases

Any financial transactions, subscriptions, or purchases in Novus Tracker are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store.

The developer does not receive, store, or have access to any of your payment cards, bank details, or billing information.

6. Third-Party Services We Rely On

To deliver certain core features, the app links to the following external services:

• Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — receives your approximate location coordinates to return live weather data.
• Apple App Store — handles transactions and subscription management. Governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

7. Analytics & Tracking

Novus Tracker contains no analytics trackers, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting SDKs, and no background behavior analysis tools.

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal data from children under the age of 13. The app is rated 13+ on the Apple App Store.

9. Your Rights

Because no personal data is stored on our servers, there are no cloud records for us to retrieve, modify, or erase on your behalf.

You have complete control over your logs. Deleting the application from your device will permanently delete all local SwiftData caches, configuration files, and saved custom background photos.
